LPA Marie Trujillo met with the Children's Services Manager Suzanne Godinez, Site Supervisor Francisco Gonzalez and Janet Fleming EHS Support Services Coordinator to conduct a Case Management visit. The purpose of the visit was to conduct an inspection for the addition of a toddler program and increase in capacity from 40 to 48 children. The Oxnard Fire Department conducted an inspection on 4/19/16. Fire clearance approval was received by fax at the CCLD office on 4/20/16.

Center will operate Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The toddler classroom is a separate classroom from the preschool located across the hall. The toddler classroom has a separate entrance. The classroom is fully equipped with age appropriate furniture, equipment and materials. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack will be served. The kitchen is maintained clean, in sanitary condition and all food items are properly stored. The menu is posted and reflects nutritious food items from several food groups that will be served. Drinking water is available in the classroom and drinking water will be taken outdoors to the play area. The play yard has a shade cover and a canopy over the sandbox. Play yard toys are safe and age appropriate. Napping cots will be labeled with each child's name. Linen will be provided by the center and will be laundered weekly or as needed. The diaper changing table meets requirements, has appropriate padding, and is positioned arms length from a sink. Needs and service plan, diaper changing schedule for each child will be maintained. Cleaning agents, disinfectants and all hazardous items are stored in a locked cabinet. The restroom is located outside of the classroom next to the back entrance to the classroom. There are three sinks and one toilet. The restroom was observed clean, age appropriate toilet in sanitary operating condition. All required forms and menu are posted on a bulletin board located at the entry of the toddler classroom lobby. All staff working with toddlers have required educational credit requirements and have a criminal record clearance.

The indoor and outdoor play area square footage meets the required square footage for the requested toddler capacity of 8 children. An increase in total capacity for the combined preschool and toddler classroom is approved for 48 children, not to exceed 8 toddlers approval is effective today, 4/22/16.
