|Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mel Matos met with Olga Patricia Romero, Licensee, for an unannounced annual/random inspection. LPA also observed Licensee's spouse, two adult assistants, and nine day care children (1 infant & 8 preschool) in the home during today's inspection. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The adults that reside in the home are the Licensee, Licensee's spouse, and Licensee's adult son. The Licensee, Licensee's spouse, and one adult assistant have current certifications for CPR and First Aid (exp: 10/26/2019). Licensee's second adult assistant has current CPR and First Aid certifications (exp: 07/28/2018).|
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. LPA reviewed a current Child Care Facility Roster and Fire/Disaster drill log during today's inspection. Last fire/disaster drill was conducted on January 3, 2018. LPA reviewed twelve children's files and observed current and updated immunization records and the Family Child Care Home Notification of Parents' Rights forms (LIC 995A) in each file.
The Licensee has a working telephone in the home. LPAs observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. The home is clean, orderly, and safe for the day care children. LPA did not observe any wall heaters inside the home. Off limit areas in the home: Room 2, one bathroom, seven locked kitchen cabinet doors, laundry room, barricaded fireplace (located in the living room), and attached garage. There are no stairs inside the home. Off limit areas outside the home: right side yard.
LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, fenced backyard, and no bodies of water. The Licensee states that she does not have any weapons or pets in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are stored in the laundry room inaccessible to children.
