Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rodriguez conducted an unannounced random annual visit today and met with Licensee Susan Mcafee. The purpose of the visit was explained. Today in attendance were 21 school age children and 8 staff members. This school age program operates out of the Roy Cloud School campus. This program runs out classrooms 22 and classroom 23, however, this facility has sent in a room change on 9/22/16 to license classroom 24. LPA toured the licensed school age program area including rooms 22, 24, playground, and bathroom areas. Room change from classroom 23 to 24 is granted pending granted fire clearance. This programs hours of operation are from 7:15am to 8:10am and from 1:30pm to 6:15pm during school days. Ms. Mcafee states there are about 90 children enrolled currently. Ms. Mcafee also states that most of the children are part time children. LPA observed staff making snack for the children and actively engaging with the children during their free play time. Activity schedule and snack menu was observed posted. Staff sign in the children once they arrive. Chemicals are locked up under the kitchen sink located at the back of the classroom. All furniture, books, play equipment, and toys are all age appropriate and in good repair. Age appropriate furniture and equipment are in good repair. Per Ms. Mcafee room 24 will be a homework/ study room until later on in the day when it will turn into an activity room for board games. Boys and girls bathrooms are located in the same building block as room 22. No apparent hazards in the children's bathroom. No apparent health or safety hazards were noted in both indoor and outdoor play areas. First Aid supplies are available in each classrooms. Sign-in/out sheets were checked. Facility is safe, clean, and well lit. Facility floors are clean and free from debris. Staff have current First Aid/ CPR which expire in June 2018. Facility has a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector. LPA reviewed children and staff records. LPA discussed IMS policy and procedures as well as new SB 792 which covers staff immunization's. For more information on IMS check the departments website at www.ccld.ca.gov.
