Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, met with Ms. Camarena for the purpose of an unannounced random annual inspection. There were 28 children present with two teachers and an Aide. Room 208, the library and the multipurpose room are currently being used. Room 201 is not being used at this time. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 9:45 a.m..and 11:50 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. LPA toured the rooms. The furniture and equipment, both inside and out, are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. All rooms have adequate heating, lighting and ventilation, are clean and orderly, and free of hazards. All storage containers and trashes have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. Afternoon snack is provided. Food is stored properly and snack menus are posted. The school bathrooms are used with supervision. Items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccessible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play area is fully fenced with sufficient cushioning and adequate shade. The play structure (monkey bars for 2nd grade and up only) and the blacktop to the first handball and basketball court are used. No hazards were noted. There are operational water fountains available. The carbon monoxide detector is operational. LPA reviewed, sign in/out sheets (electronic), a sample of personnel records for a health screening and a sample of children's records for emergency information. All staff present have current CPR and First Aid certification. Isolation area is a quiet area of the classroom near the Director's desk and away from other children. SB 792 (staff immunization) and Mandated Reporter Training (AB 1207) requirements have been met. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Services were in place today. No deficiencies are cited. NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS POSTED DURING THIS VISIT AND WILL REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. LPA is requesting an updated LIC 500 (Personnel Report) and LIC 610 (Emergency Disaster Plan).
