|(1) LPA Monica Cuddy visited the facility to conduct a site inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with teaching staff and proceeded to tour the facility. During today's visit, there were 11 children with 3 staff in room #51. There was one staff and no children in room #50. Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed. Appropriate care & visual supervision were also observed during the visit while children were having circle time.|
Furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition. Rooms have adequate heating, lighting, ventilation. There are no hazards accessible to children. Drinking water is readily accessible. Bathrooms are maintained with operational toilets and faucets with appropriate temperature. Paper towels and toilet paper are available. Bathroom is lighted and has ventilation. Food is provided by the school cafeteria. The facility appears to be free of insects and rodents. Outdoor play area is a fenced playground with sufficient wood chips for cushioning. Climbing structures, swings and slides are securely fixed to the ground. Area has trees which provide shade. Equipment is age appropriate. Area has drinking water readily accessible and grounds are free of debris or potential hazards. There are no bodies of water or weapons at this facility.
LPA reviewed medication storage, and sign-in/sign-out procedures. Children’s records contain emergency information and medical assessments. At least one staff member has current CPR and First Aid certifications. All staff must meet educational requirements of Department of Ed and are required to complete medical exam and TB tests as a condition of employment. Staff is also exempt from criminal record clearance requirements as employees of the Board of Education. Licensee is asked to provide updated Emergency and Disaster plan (LIC610), and Updated Personnel Report (LIC500).
