|The purpose of this inspection was to conduct a case management Evaluation of the facility for increasing capacity. Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Malek and Port toured the facility inside and out. LPAs met with director, Kristina Apollo in the classroom. The children were eating lunch in the classrooms and getting ready for nap. There were a total of 30 preschool children and 4 staff including the director in two different classrooms observed. The facility is currently licensed for 36 children in two rooms. The facility has requested to increase the capacity to 60 children by adding another room. A review of staff criminal clearance records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. |
The Ministry classroom was previously measured and it was approximately 1056 square feet.
There are two toilets and two sinks in this classroom.
The monkey room that is close to the playground was also previously measured and it was approximately 385 square feet. There is one toilet and three sinks in the classroom. There is also staff bathroom in the classroom. According to Fire Department approval this rooms cannot exceed eleven children at any time.
The new classroom which is located adjacent to the monkey room is currently in use by the private kindergarten of this elementary school. The classroom will be used by preschool children as of August 21, 2017. This room was measured today. It was approximately 1014 square feet. The total measurement of these three classrooms are approximately 2455 square feet that accommodates 70 children. There are 3 toilets, 2 sinks in the girl's bathroom and one toilet, 2 sinks, and 2 urinals in the Boy's bathroom.
The facility has a waiver on file to share the restroom with kindergarten class from private school with preschool children at a different timing.
There are a total of seven toilets, 8 sinks and two urinals for children's use in this facility.
