|The purpose of this visit was to conduct a Case Management Evaluation of the facility for increasing capacity. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Malek toured the facility inside and out. LPA met with director, Alyssa O'Hara at the time of the visit. There were no children present due to summer break. The facility is currently licensed for 25 children in one room. They have requested to increase the capacity to 36 children by adding another room. A review of staff criminal clearance records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The new classroom which is classroom # 1 was measured. It was approximately 385 square feet that accommodates additional 11 children. There is one toilet and three sinks in the classroom. There is also staff bathroom in the classroom. The outdoor space is large enough to cover the new capacity of 36 children. The facility has a waiver approval to share the playground with kindergarten and 1st grade elementary children at different schedule time. The measurement of this shared playground is 11956 square feet that accommodate 159 children.|
In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiency was observed of the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12 at the time of the visit.
An exit interview was completed. Appeal Rights and deficiencies were discussed. A copy of the Appeal Rights was given to the facility representative. All appeals must be in writing and received by the Licensing office within 10 days.
THE FACILITY REPRESENTATIVE WAS INFORMED THAT THE 'NOTICE OF SITE VISIT' MUST BE POSTED FOR 30 CONSECUTIVE DAYS. FAILURE TO POST WILL RESULT IN CIVIL PENALTIES OF $100.00. THE 'NOTICE OF SITE VISIT' WAS POSTED ON THE DOOR.
An updated license for a capacity of 36 children will be issued today in 2 rooms. Room # 1 not to exceed 11 children per fire code. Room # 2 is in use for preschool children until 2:30 pm.
