|Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Sanchez conducted an unannounced random visit. LPA met with licensee, Scarlett Llamas and Co-licensee, Emma Cardenas who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. The There were 12 children present, 4 being infants. Licensee states that there are currently 19 children enrolled, children's roster was reviewed and is current. Disaster drill log was available, last drill documented was 06/2015.|
This is a one story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room (FIREPLACE: inaccessible) garage and backyard (fenced). The children use the bathroom off of pink room, blue room, pink room, outdoor covered patio and kitchen. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room and dining room and detached garage. There is a detached living quarters with same address. The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.
Areas that are not indicated as being “off-limits” were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, ventilation and heating. Family members residing in the home are 4 adults (criminal record clearances on file) and 2 children. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, sharp objects and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home. The licensee does understand that poison must be locked with a key or combination lock.
Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises. There were toys observed for children. Emergency Disaster was posted at the time of visit. Children’s records were reviewed. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged (Purchased 06/2015). Smoke detector was tested and in operable condition. Carbon monoxide detector was not present. The licensee has current Pediatric First Aid and CPR, which will expire 12/2015. There are first aid supplies on the premises.
