Availability of drinking water indoors and outdoors was reviewed. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature/pressure, toilet paper, paper towels, area safety and sanitation.
First Aid supplies were inventoried. The facility is providing incidental medical services to children in care when needed. There is no current plan in place. The LPA provided an Advisory Note which included all the requirements for completing the IMS Plan. The IMS Plan is to be completed and submitted to the LPA within 2 weeks from today for review. LPA referred Site Supervisor to http://ccld.ca.gov/PG2917.htm
Breakfast and Lunch menus were reviewed. Food and snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity and ensuring appropriate serving sizes are issued to children in care. The food preparation areas were toured for safety, cleanliness and proper equipment. The cleaning and food supply storage areas were also observed.
The outdoor equipment and space was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair, and age appropriateness. Required shade, drinking water and fencing were inspected and observed. The outdoor activity area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. LPA observed teacher child ratios and documented staff names.
Children's sign in and out sheets were reviewed. A review of children’s records was conducted. Staff records were not reviewed on this date. There are no new staff working at the facility since the last inspection and all staff are fully qualified and have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions as a requirement of employment with the ABC Unified School District.
LPA also observed Health Screenings and verification of CPR/First Aid and Preventative Health Practices for staff.
After a tour and review of this program, no deficiencies are noted in accordance with Title 22 Regulations for Child Care Centers during today's visit.
The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00. LPA advised the licensee how to access forms and regulations on line at: www.ccld.ca.gov
