LPA Chandra Charles, met with Interim Director Rosario Garcia & Owner / Director Thiara Tejveer for the purpose of an Unannounced Random site inspection for the Infant component of this day care facility. The Center was toured with the Interim Site Director inside and outside for a health and safety inspection. A physical census was taken of all children present and crossed referenced with the electronic sign in and out Neat School system. The Infant room is equipped with a working telephone, working smoke & carbon monoxide detectors, pull down fire alarm devices and first aid supplies. STAFF AND CHILDREN'S FILES: A review of (2) infants files were reviewed. Staff files were reviewed under the preschool component evaluation. All required documentation for staff and children were in the files. A review of staff records indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Employees have completed the required AB 1207 Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training course. Employees are in compliance with immunization requirement as it pertains to all day care providers. CLASSROOMS: Infant Furniture & Equipment was age and sized appropriate. There are (8) standard size cribs in the infant room. (3) low high chairs and ample infant floor mats and equipment for the infants to play on. The Heating and lighting was adequate. There is adequate storage for children's belongings. There is a refrigerator in the main infant room. The facility appears to be safe, sanitary and in good repair. CHANGING TABLES &TOILETING AREAS: The bathroom areas were toured and all toilets flushed properly & the sinks are in working order. There are two changing table areas which are in an arms length to a working sink & faucet. There is a separate staff bathroom. There is no standing water on any of the floors. FOOD SERVICE AREAS: Parents provide bottle formulas for their infants. The bottles are properly labeled and kept in the refrigerator. NEEDS & SERVICE PLAN FOR INFANTS: LPA, reviewed the needs and service plans and they were found to be up to date. The counter tops, flooring, area rugs and carpets areas throughout the classrooms are clean. Cleaning supplies stored away and inaccessible to children. INSPECTION of OUTDOOR PLAY AREA: All outside playing equipment is age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate and appropriate cushioning under the play equipment. The outside play area is free of miscellaneous debris or hazards such as tree branches, cans, bottles and broken glass. Napping infant was being properly supervised. POSTING REQUIREMENTS: All proper documents that need to be posted are posted in a highly visible place for parental review. LPA reminded the interim director that Disaster Drills should be practiced at least once every 6 months.

CARE & SUPERVISION: Child teacher interactions was observed and found to be in accordance with regulations. No children's rights were being violated. All children were treated with dignity and respect. More than one person on staff has current CPR/First Aid certificates.

California Law requires Child Care Center personnel staff to Report Unusual Incidents or injuries to children in care to the child's parents and to the Department of Social Services using the Unusual Incident/Injury form (LIC 624B). Do not leave an Unusual Incident Report on the Licensing Program Analyst voice mail.


The Site Director is reminded that ALL assistants, volunteers, frequent visitors, or adults at the facility, are 18 years of age or older must be fingerprint cleared and associated to this facility prior to being in the presence of children in care or an immediate civil penalty will be assessed from $100 to $3000 per person, per incident. There are no deficiencies cited today

An exit interview was conducted. A notice of site visit was posted. LPA advised licensee of the requirement to post the notice of site visit for 30 days.
